What is Shamoos? And what is its relationship to hotels?

The "National Tourism Information Network" is one of the important tributaries that help maintain security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by transferring data from private sector clients, citizens and residents, to the beneficiaries of the security and government sectors, using technical and secure systems to reduce the risks resulting from the exchange of information. It also seeks to spread computer awareness in the private sector. Shamoos aims to open a channel for exchanging information to develop joint cooperation in business.
The Ministry of Interior, which is responsible for operating and supervising the system, published an executive regulation for the establishments that can practice their activities under the umbrella of the system, which are: tourist accommodation facilities, such as hotels, furnished apartments and rest houses, car rental offices, shops for buying and selling gold and jewelry, in addition to all real estate offices that include buying, selling and renting residential complexes, as well as public transportation, car scrap shops, health clubs, private security guards, and others.
The system preserves the material and moral rights of individuals and institutions, to prevent tampering with people's names and limit the sheltering of violators, in addition to setting general rules for transferring information between the Ministry of Interior and government and private establishments.
The National Information Center at the Ministry provides technical connectivity between “Shumous” and other systems, and provides technical services to beneficiaries, in order to facilitate the transfer and exchange of required information.

Among the entities that issue “Shumous” licenses are the Ministries of Commerce and Investment, Transport, Municipal and Rural Affairs, and Housing, in addition to the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, and the Communications and Information Technology Commission.
